This lesson was developed as part of the Yorkville District #115's WebQuest workshop. It was designed to integrate career education with Language Arts.
The lesson is designed for our students to increase awareness of the careers available to them in the future. In turn the groups will share their knowledge with primary grade students by creating ABC books on careers. Throughout the project group collaboration will play an important part in the learning process. In addition, a combination of writing and internet skills will produce a quality final product to share with the primary students.

Throughout the year class discussions have been held concerning career opportunities. In addition, our students experience a hands-on visit to our area vocational school. This knowledge, combined with researching on the internet and practicing writing skills daily, will enable the students to succeed with this activity.
The evaluation will be based on the Group Participation
Rubric and the Book Rubric. The students respond to two questions
by e-mail.
This project is designed to help students develop writing skills, increase their knowledge on careers, and give them opportunity to be creative in combining the two areas of study.
