Science Options


For Magazine, Travel Brochure, or Tri-fold---choose 3 for an A, 2 for a B, or 1 for a C
1.  Illustrate the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef. research the animals and plants that would be found there.  Write a 150 word essay describing the reef.
2.  Create a chart of marsupials. Include pictures and a paragraph to explain the picture.(200 words total)
3.  Record the daily weather for 2 weeks.  Choose a city to record the following information: temperature,air pressure, winds, cloud cover etc.  Create a weather graph.  Summarize your information in a paragraph of 50-100 words.
4.  Illustrate the tropical rainforest of Australia.  Research the plants and animals that would be found there.  Write a 150 word essay essay describing life in the rainforest.
5..Food is basic to all living things.  What do Australian animals eat?  Are they herbivores, carnivores, or omnivores?Complete a chart of  at least 10 animals and what they eat.  Include pictures.  Summarize your information in a paragraphif 50-100 words.
6.  Create an Australian map of landforms.  Include mountain ranges, Ayers Rock, deserts, reef, rainforest, lakes, rivers, and seas.  Include pictures of each type of landform.  Also include the state borders and at least 5 major cities.
7.  Research the different biomes of Australia and write a 200 word essay.  Include some pictures.
8.  What medical and health concerns are problems in Australia?  Write a 200 word essay.
9.  Constellations are differennt in the southern hemisphere.  What constellations would you see there?  Make an illustration and research some of their constellations.(150 words)

If you are doing a video, timeline, power point presentation, virtual tour, or commercial you must include at least 15 scientific facts for an A, 13 for a B, and 10  for a C.

If you are doing a children's story you must have scientific content.  For an A you must have atleast 200 words, Bis 180 words, and C  is 50 words.
